Being on parole means you served a majority of your sentence in prison already. If you had an active prescription inside the wire for marijuana, then I am sure your PO will continue to allow it. Since NO prison in the USA will allow any type of prescription such as this, I don't see how you will be able to verify the validity claim of "need" for this since your parole was granted.
However, call your PO, explain the situation and ask if you will be not be violated with a Doctor's "recommendation" for cannabis ( please note that Dr's cannot prescribe this, but they can make a medical recommendation). Beyond that point, you will know for sure what will happen when you are given a UA and fail it.

Yes, you can get violated. CA parole is very strict about this. There are exceptions that allow some parolees to use it, but they don't allow it carte blanche. This, "I have back pain so I have to smoke marijuana" doesn't cut it. |

you can however, get a prescription for Marinol which is a synthetic cannabinoid.It is often marketed as a legal pharmaceutical alternative to natural cannabis. If on parole check with parole officer about everything!!!!! |

It's NOT a prescription, it's a physician's reccomendation. Yes, depending on your state it might work although in CA they give the reccomendation to anyone paying the fee. I have NEVER seen someone turned down who could pay for the Dr. visit. |

I am a licensed medical marijuana user; also on CA state parole, I test every month and it NEVER comes back dirty, so as far as CA being very strict; I don’t believe they test at ALL for marijuana. |
