sometimes waits for me after class after I tell him to stop, is it within my rights to call campus security?
That's not all of what he does, but based on that, are they going to come and stop him? Would they arrest him? What would happen?

Not my boyfriend anymore. Just dumped him yesterday in person. Changed my status on facebook to single, so hopefully that's proof. I guess I'll send him a breakup message just in case, too.

If you repeatedly tell this person to stop annoying you and you are trying to break it off with him, this can be considered stalking and, based on your state, it's probably a crime. But if you're still seeing him then there is nothing you can do. He would have to actually be bothering someone (breaking the law) to be in "trouble".
The restraining order is a good idea but you have to have some evidence - proof - that the relationship is off, such as notes, letters, recorded phone calls, witnesses to go to court with. You can obtain an immediate order of protection, but you will eventually go to court to keep it active. California has anti-stalking laws, but it's tough to prove unless the guys a real basket case. With a restraining order, you would put down that he cannot come within say 100 yards of you and he would have to be served his copy. If he violates that, he would be ejected or arrested, depending on the situation. Even on the anti-stalking charge, probably just a warning at first.
But you cannot have anything done if you're still going together. If he's annoying others, they can call security and he can be arrested for disturbing the peace. If he is not a student and is on campus without permission, he can be forcibly ejected. |

disregard the other negative posts, they seem to be morons. what you need to do is get a restraining order on him by filing a complaint. also yes it is within you're rights to call security or the police for that matter. hopefully they can arrest him if he continues to make noise. |

I should say yes it is within your rights to inform the campus security. But my next question is HE IS YOUR BOYFRIEND correct? So I do not see why you do not entertained him when he comes or knock on your door, ring on your bell or even tapped on your window too? What the heck is your problem with your boyfriend? If he is just a garbage collector yes I would tell you do not do anything if he comes by your place but he is your boyfriend....hello!!!....So why call the campus security for?
Why not talk to him heart to heart or even if you like you can hire the gymnasium for that to be able to talk and to walk around it just to finished what you both have started or differences. MOVE ON with each other if you both have too. The campus security is not stupid to arrest your boyfriend for something like knocking doors in the middle of the night, or just like you said disturbing the other residents. HE DEFINITELY WANTS something from you correct? I do not think that thing in you because he already had it long time ago probably something about your relationship issues or maybe you are having a new relationship behind his back that is why he is so eager to talk to you about it. The only problem is why are you so stubborn NOT to talk to him or kept ignoring him all the time. THIS ISSUE between you and him wouldn't go away unless you talk to him PERSONALLY.
I also do not know why is it women keep on moving away or hiding when we guys like to talk about relationship. I for one want issues either past or present to be settled ONCE AND FOR ALL, to be able to sleep soundly at night and have no headaches whatsoever. But you on the other hand I find BUILDING WALLS instead of bridges in order to finishes this problem. Yes I know I do not know the issues between you and him why you didn't give us a brief story about it instead of just telling us if campus security will arrest your boyfriend if he keeps on bothering you. WHAT A QUESTION HUH! You can even asked that to your neighbor next door or your cousin. |
