If someone is granted bond does this mean he/she is out of jail or only that bail is available?

what does the term bond is granted mean

THE UNCOOL 1
It means that someone can bail them out of jail. So they don't have to wait in jail until there trail comes up!!!

Bond is a percentage of the bail and is a down payment to insure you show up for court.....if you miss court you will be arrested on a warrent and have to pay the entire bail to get out the second time most likely

If a judge tells a defendant they are granted bond or granted bail, it means they are able to get out of jail until their trail provided they can post the bond.

If you live in a state that allows surety (private) bail, you can go to a bail bondsman to help post bail. The bail agent will usually ask for 10% of the bond amount as their fee to post the rest of the bond. This 10% is nonrefundable. If the bail agent feels like the defendant is a flight risk or the bail is higher than normal, the bail agent may also ask for collateral, or property/objects that are worth the total amount of the bond.

Once the bondsman has his or her fee and collateral, he or she will go down to the jail and post the bond, releasing the defendant from jail. If the defendant show up for all their court dates, they will not be responsible for the other 90% of the bail (The 10% is nonrefundable no matter what happens). If the defendant does not show up for their court date, they are responsible for the amount of the bond in its entirety. Many times a bail bondsman will send a bounty hunter to find and rearrest the fugitive so they are not responsible for the amount of the bond. If a fugitive is not returned, the bail agent will keep the collateral to make up for the other 90% of the bond that was lost.

A bond is like a get out of jail free card. Except you are bound by that bail to appear on court at that day. So say the judge sets a $250,000 bail, ur most likely going to hire a bail bondsman to put up the 10%. This 10% acts as collateral if he/she wishes to elude the warrant. Thats y u have bounty hunters who arent able to act as police officers but will find and detain u until u show up to court.
