So, I was going around this bend near my neighborhood and the speed limit changes from 50 to 60 right after the bend is finished. A cop was about 10 meters behind the 60 sign and jumped out and pulled me over for speeding (69km/h). He said I was going 69 in a 50 zone. So I was wondering how far away they can radar cause I know I definitely was NOT going 69 around the bend.
Also, when he wrote me up the ticket you checked off that I was an adult and not a youth. So I was hoping that would help me out a little bit. Any help?

Signing the ticket only shows acknowlegement that the Officer has explained what the ticket is for or how to contest it. But I will say that you will probably still have to pay the fine. |

Um, no. For the 40th time, a typo does not get you out of your crime.
You were speeding. you have no case. For once I'd love to just see someone come in here and go "yeah, I sped, I will accept responsibility for my actions instead of trying to find every stupid loophole that doesn't actually exist to make it the cop's fault."
PS - and the "Hammer" is an idiot who has no clue what she's talking about. "Signing it" does not mean you "agree to what he's written" It means you promise to take care of it, whether that's going to court and fighting it or just paying it. It's not an admission of guilt. Remember, most people here are just passing off bad guesses as answers like that nitwit. |

it will be your word against the copper and that's an argument you'll never win. if you really want to fight it, you could check on the legailty in your state for the police having to be visible (rather than hiding) to radar you, and provide a full diagram and vehicle diagnostics to argue whether it was capable of doing 69km/hr around a bend and so on - but it might just be easier to pay the fine and move on, as it'll only end in anxiety and pain! |

Signing basically says, yes I agree to what you've written. However, you can still try to fight it in court, but it'll be your word against the cops. |
