I've seen soo many videos on youtube of people smoking weed, how come the authorities don't do anything about it, if it is illegal?

How do you prove they were smoking anything illegal? Even if they admit it's weed, we still need what's called a "corpus" to the crime. Meaning, no weed = no crime.
Also, how do you prove where they were smoking it? You have to have a county to charge them in. A federal attorney isn't going to waste his/her time prosecuting small stuff like that. The could even claim that the picture was taken in another country. |

Because video evidence posted on youtube of people smoking drugs is not illegal. If it were ever taken to court, all they would have to do is say "That wasn't weed" and there would be no way for the prosecution to prove that the substance shown in the video was in fact weed. |

Generally, the lab test to prove what was being smoked is impossible in such a case. It is not a crime to pretend to smoke dope and unless the cops can prove that it was indeed dope, there was be no prosecution. |

Because they have no physical evidence that that person was in possession of weed. The police have to actually see the drug, and take possession of it as evidence in court. |
