That depends entirely on the department you apply to.
I know a young fellow who applied to our local Sheriff's office (Amador County, CA, after graduating from the Police Academy at CR, and was turned down because he had a juvenile offense (which was taken off the record when he became an adult, but on the application it did not exclude juvenile offenses, so he put it down as a matter on honesty). But I know officers in that same Dept. who have felonies on their adult record, but were hired any way. Connections help. |

Was it a misdemeanor or a felony? if it was something traffic related possibly, but if it required probation it was probably serious enough to prevent u from being a police officer |
