This situation would only arise if there was no one else to do it as an officer wouldn't be expected to deal with persons with whom they had some kind of interest such as family members. |

They sure would! |

Oath taken states that you will serve without fear or favour so yes if it was necessary you would have to make an arrest. However it is almost certain that there would be someone else that could attend so when you pointed out the relationship they would be sent instead so situation would be unlikely to arise.
Whats more likely to occur is that you have to arrest someone you know in some other capacity such as another Police Officer, your kids teacher, etc. |

if it came to that point yes i would cause the law shouldn't bend a certain way no matter who they are related to but i honestly don't think they would send me/you to that paticular case |

I dont think they let u deal with cases involving with your family so ill say let someone else do it |

If you were asked to attend at your own home or that of a relative then you should ask another police mobile to attend.
If it was immediate and there were no other resources available then you would simply have no choice.
Basically though it shouldn't happen. |

I honestly don't think they'd let you do that. It would be assigned to another officer. |

there is a procedure in place for this eventuality so it would never happen. in legal terms there would be a conflict of interest. and the situation would be fraught with legal problems evidence wise.
if a officer was placed in this position, inadvertently he would declare a interest and leave any action to his/her colleagues.
and he would leave the scene. |

I don't think you would be allowed to deal with the situation because it may compromise the arrest procedure.Personally I would ask that someone else is involved and keep out of the way... |

I might enjoy it. |

The proper thing to do would be request another unit and let them handle the situation |

I wouldn't be in the Police Force in the first place, far better jobs spring to mind |

Are you joking, man? My mam is built like an Amazonian Warrior and if I went close enough to receive a killer blow to the old noggin, I would end up toast!!!!! Women are loonies when they get going and a public health warning should be issued against them.
Dental treatment is free coz they would knock the lot out free of charge and the anaesthetic used is a flying bottle so leave the arresting business to a mate and attend his funeral and not yours!!! |

I would ask if another person could do it.
if it was serious and there was no choice and they were going to flee the country, id like to think id have the strength of character to do it... but who knows. |

I would do it myself, simple. |

Someone else do it. If it was my dad I would arrest him because i don't like him very much. |

If the call came to your house, or to an accident that your family is known to be in, you are not to respond to that area.
Myself, my parents had to much class too have police called to house.
Never drank in excess, no pot heads, never fought or argued that I remembered. |

I got better senses to work as a cop and no I would not arrest anyone. |
