Im 16 and i was ounched in the face by a drug addict today, how long could he get in prison if i prosecute?

he was begging people for money 40p, so i gave him 50p, but he cursed me with swear words sayin i took the piss giving him extra, so he demanded £1.

it was in a fast food shop, yet the 2 workers just asked him to leave, even as i was in trouble. he then punched me in my left ear, i wasnt dazed nor hurt, no marks have been left, but im curious as to there is no evidence. could he get time inprisonment?

i know he is a drug addict because he lives around my area, i see him all the time either smoking certain thing etc.. i don't judge people by looks thanks for the quotation.

Likely it want More like homeless guy comes in begging you likely called him a drug addict and told him where to go and Than he punched ya.

A drug addict beggar. I'm not sure prison would be much of a punishment in his case. No visible damage. Hmmm... doubtful. You could make a complaint to make sure the police are aware of the situation. You might also consider telling the shop manager that in the future you will take your business elsewhere and the reason why.

In the US, it would be a minor or common assault and would likely only result is a summons being issued. No jail time

The idiot Dylan claiming you can't press charges because you're not 18 is of course guessing. Because his father is supposedly a police officer doesn't mean he has any idea what he's talking about (and you don't "prosecute," you press charges - remember most people here are guessing and like this idiot, guessing poorly).

You can't do a retro press charges on someone who hit you earlier. If that were possible, the courts would be clogged with all kinds of "he hit me last week and I want to sue!" charges.

If you were in a fast food shop shouldn't there be cameras around it should have been recorded on tape and that would be evidence right there. Depending on weather or not he has had a previous record and is a constant trouble maker he might go to jail.
