im interested in becoming a police officer but i know that you need ot be a minimum of 18, so i plan to join after i have finished my a levels.
what i want to know is whether i would be allowed to get some work experience with the police in the summer, as for me it is likely to be long and lonely and will be a good opportunity to see what it would be like, and then see if i still want to become one, giving me a chance to plan towards university.
I am planning to take a degree in either maths or computer maintenance (as a fall back plan) in the event of me being unable ot work in the police die to injury or other reasons.

Do a Google search for Explorers in your area they are a group that let younger people get experience with Police, Firefighters, and Paramedics. Really great group my brother was in the Firefighters Explorers he had a uniform and everything. |

It sounds as if you might be in a country other than the United States. If I am wrong, I apologize. However, in the U.S. many police departments offer 'cadet' positions for teens. Cadets are often uniformed, do occasional ride-alongs, and may have duties such as traffic control, front desk duty, and minor report writing. Perhaps they offer such positions at departments in your country as well?

easier way of doing thins- sometimes you may be able to talk to an officer and ask where if any where you can go to get experience summer training to be a cop- or the other guy had it right with the military police |

The easiest and cheapest path to becoming a police officer is to join the military and be assigned to military police. You'll get training, experience and a paycheck. This gives you a leg up on every other applicant off the street.
This is advice that works in every country, everywhere. |
