ok so on wednesday night one of my cars got broken into and i had an in car dvd player stolen (granted the wrong half they just took the screen and wires) so i phoned the police who took down detail and said someone would phone me in the morning which they did and that id need to make an appointment with s.o.c.o. to see if they can lift prints from my car, so i did this thursday morning and they said they would be round thursday morning but its now saturday afternoon and they still havent been. i know theres dna on the car as where the glass is smashed theres hair on the glass along with what looks like blood. im not so bothered by what the theif took but by the car he smashed, its the family car that i usually have my kids in (granted all thats smashed is the rear quarter on driver side) i cant clean it up until s.o.c.o. have been and in the mean time im having to use my other car to cart my kids around. i have a calibra (and the drivers side door wont open from outside) now any one who knows anything about cars will know that a calibra isnt quite practicle to cart around a 3 year old and a 1 year old, on top of that im like 8 months pregnant and find it difficult to lean over my passenger seat to open drivers door!! this is what bothers me about the whole thing the inconvenience of the whole thing and the lack of help from the police. the police seem like they dont care about this and cant be bothered but yet if i was to do something wrong u can guarentee that theyd be straight on it, like say i got caught driving with no insurance, by the end of the next day i would have been to court and sentanced!! any way im getting sick and tired of phoning and getting an answer phone to which my messages arent being returned. i need to clean my car for the well being of my kids but cant do so until they have been like i say, where do i go from here is there any thing i can do and please less of the sarcastic comments before i get them coz no doubt ill get them.

I suggest you contact your local MP as they can usually kick the police up the backside. You should also be able to contact your local Police by email. Just google the name of the force and there should be a Contact Us link. Email them as you will be likely to get a fast response.
My daughter was attacked at school by a boy who pushed her to the ground, pressed down hard on her chest and stood on her head. I had to take her to see a doctor as she was crying in pain when i picked her up. I emailed the Police later that night and they phoned me back within 12 hours. That was quick for them. |

I totally understand your frustration, but car burglaries simply don't have the priority more serious crimes do. If you need to use your car, go ahead and clean it up. You aren't committing a crime by restoring your property. For what it's worth, it is very rare to find any fingerprints of value, and it is unlikely they are going to perform expensive DNA tests to solve a crime of this type.
I feel your pain--I'm a prosecutor and my car was burglarized and my GPS stolen while my car was parked directly underneath the "Prosecutor's Office Staff Cars Only" sign. It's not the crime of the century, but it's still a violation and a huge hassle, not to mention the expense of repairs. Sorry it happened to you. Best thing is to get it cleaned up and get on with your life. |

if you were rich and you owned a bentley or roller they would have turned up inside 5 minutes no doubt.
I had my car vandalised some 3 years ago , the best the silly B@stards could say is "would you like victim support ?".
Unless its really serious crime dont bother with them.

go to another country and see how they police out there, then you'll realise how lucky you are in this country.
In most other countries you wouldnt even get a soco out.
