They do in my area, I'd be surprised if there were any agencies that did not. Dispatchers have access to a lot of sensitive and confidential information. |

I don't know of any public safety agency that hires any employee without doing a background check. Never seen one. It's pretty safe to say "yes, you will." |

It would depend a lot on the type of company that it is. Most say they will backround check but some of them really don't. |

Mostly likely and they should do one on every potential emplyee. They don't need criminals working for them. |

Yes, all jobs on the police force have mandatory backround checks before you are eligible to get the job. |

All agencies that I've ever been associated with perform background investigations on all employees.... including dispatchers.
Having access to 'restricted' information would require such an investigation. |

It depends...the application that required your signature is your contract for that company when it comes to pre-employment requirements...Did the contract state there would be a criminal background check? |
