Im waiting for a court date on a felony is it posible that i could go to marines to get out of this court?

It is highly unlikely that any military service will take a person that is charged with a felony. The recruiters are forbidden from dealing directly with the court. Any deal made has to be made with the District Attorneyâ€™s office and be approved by the Presiding Judge. The Judge and or District Attorney will most likely informally interview the recruiter to ensure that the defendant is qualified to enter the service. The District Attorney and Judge have the ultimate say. The Judge can dismiss the charges. The judge can hold the defendent in contempt of court if they fail to enter the service as agreed--this can also be a felony.

Don,t try that they will find you then you will go through what they call Double Jeopardy Civilian Court and also MilitaryCourt ,So Just attend your Court date.

NO!! they won't accept you because you are a felon. You have to go to your court date. If you don't then you'll have a nasty warrant out for you and they will find you. Trust me, they always do.

You have not yet been convicted of a felon. When you go to court you will find out if you are convicted or not. If you do not show up to court you will have a warrant out for your arrest. The Marines will not accept you if you have been convicted as a felon. The Marines might be an option if you are found Not Guilty on your charges, but it's going to have to wait until AFTER court.

I would strongly encourage you to show up to court and deal with the situation to put it behind you. You will make matters worse if you try to screw the system and you will get caught. Running away from the law is not strongly advised.

I remember about 30-35 years ago, in many states, when someone was arrested for a crime (depends on the level), the judge would give that person the opportunity to either serve time in jail, or serve in the military. Reason I know this, I have two uncles who were going to serve time for various crimes, but chose to go to the military and that was the best investment they did, they earned respect and were diciplined, and now both are retired, with Honorable Discharges. But now, that will not happen.

no there is no way. i know because i joined with the same problem. also if you will be able to join depends on the type of crime it is. the us military does not look at just convictions by the way they will also take into account any arrests that have been made. but dont worry they will try to work with you after all everyone makes mistakes. just make sure to score high on your asvab

If you have been charged with a felony the military will not accept you until you have had your court date. You could go down and talk to them and explain the situation and the may accept you on a wait list and once you get it cleared up you can join. Think long and hard about joining the Marines though. It is not for everyone and remember that right now if you join the military your probably going to be sent to Iraq and jail might be a better option.
