'Fraid I can't answer that. I can just suggest you ask yourself WHY you would be informing on these people.

Is it because you consider yourself someone who supports law and order and, although it might personally sadden you, you feel this is the right thing to do? Is it because you've read the research and honestly believe that illegally immigrants are a significant hazard to our country and way of life (through the burden on public services etc.), and thus is worth the personal pain of the people you will be turning in?

Then do it. It shouldn't haunt you.

But if it's because you find these people annoying, and otherwise you'd be one to turn a blind eye on other law breakers--a friend smoking weed, or driving drunk (which could get someone killed faster than illegal immigration can)? Then reconsider. Because do not doubt that you are seriously harming individual lives.

To me, it comes down to what kind of person you want to be, and that isn't defined by whether you inform or not. It's defined by WHY you inform or not. When you look back on your actions, will you find them earnest or petty?

I don't think anyone should be aloud to break our laws. If they are here illegally,then they need to return home. What would you do to a shop lifter? The Laws the law...if you don't like it, then work on changing it. If you like it, then vote to keep it. Just obey it!

If you can, you should call immigration and find out how you can help. You have a system that obviously points them out. Maybe they would appreciate more help from people in your position. I would.

I think you should. The law is the law. Just because it isn't murder doesn't mean they're not hurting others.

Have to say I agree with Maxine. The law is the law. If you don't like the law, fight to change it, but if they are here illegally, they are stealing from each of us while they are here.

Hm its best to call the police or authorities.Because if they find oout you knew.Then you COULD be sentaced to jail. I said could.

Hell Yeah. Like I said before, they are taking over and the greedy folks with money here are allowing it. Most of this country is not going to be beautiful to much longer --like in 10 yrs maybe. It's going to look just like mexico, and who wants that. Hate to say it, but authorities and the government probably will not do anything about it. I would still try.

I think you should respect the law. But you also should not respect it to the point of making maybe false and very dangerous accusations about people. In other words, the ones who actually admit they are illegal are the only ones you have certain knowledge of, right? The others you cannot truthfully say. Even if you're probably right.

Vaughn said it best. But I can add one more reason... a self-preservation reason...

If they ever *do* decide to start cracking down on illegal immigration, and it is discovered that you had knowledge of them and did not turn them in, you have just become an accessory to a crime.

Edit: bull, Victor. I was accused of a crime I did not commit... "guilt by association" because I stood in a doorway and yelled in to my "friends" that they should get out of a house they were vandalizing. They didn't find a single print of mine, the person who reported it even stated that I never went in... but they got off with a stern talking to and *I* got threatened with juvie... when I never set foot in the house. Because I happened to be 6 months older than any of the other kids. Sure, it was 20 yeas ago... but I'm still bitter. I tried to do something good... and the whole mess was placed on my shoulders.

do you have a heart? do you know how hard they work at basically no money to get their little 4 year old son food to fill up his stomach.they are not harming you and are just trying to have a good life and live the american dream. dont take it away from them. remember their whole familys depend on just you then. how would you feel?

mother bear is a bit misguided...first off, you are or will be an accessory to NOTHING. we don't live in a society where we are required to tell on our fellow man for things of this nature. i think she is confusing us with Cuba. second, i think you should just mind your own business and leave hard working, honest people alone. i know far more Americans that they would do better to deport than most immigrants that i have seen.
