Assume you get to an intersection where to avoid the turning lane you have to get over to the right. No lane change is necessary to get into it. The pavement is marked with a left arrow and the light is a left arrow.
Legally, do you have to turn on your left turn signal?

Just to be clear: You're going down a road and approach an intersection. The lane you are in becomes a left turn lane.

You turn on the signal if you are turning or CHANGING lanes. If you are not turning and you are in the turning lane then you are breaking a different law. One is a failure to signal and the other is an improper lane violation. Either way you only put on a signal when you are going to turn or change lanes. If you needed to get over to the right then why would you need to use your left turn signal anyways? |

LOL.. your question is slightly confusing. If you are not changing lanes, I don't see why you would need to use a signal.. BUT.. it's so quick and easy to flip the signal on.. if there's any doubt.. just do it! =)
oh.. but if you are in the turn lane to turn, then yes.. you should have your signal on. signals are all about letting other drivers know what you're doing.. they may not know that you're in a marked turn lane. |

Yes legally you would have to use a turn signal, it's kind of dumb since you are already in the lane marked for turning that way but I am pretty sure you have to use your turn signal any time you turn. |
