In california, if arrested for domestic battery but charges were dropped, what happens with child custody?

The district attorney's office dropped the charges and now I am going to file for custody. I want to know if his arrest will affect him.

If the charges were dropped that most likely means there was not enough evidence to prosecute. He was just accused, not found guilty, so no it would probably not affect.
