In CA, when a crime is permitted inside the prison, the inmate is "arrested" and charged... same as if he wasn't an inmate. Inmates go to court and are sentenced.
Depending on the inmate, his history, the guard, etc. that'll determine what will happen. The inmate may receive a slap on the hand, a letter, loss of privilege, etc. |

If he is found guilty, he can get time in the hole or "ad-seg", during which time he'll lose visits and may not be allowed contact visits after (only behind plexi-glass). I don't think they'll add time on but it's possible. |
