evolved in a hit and run? My sister, unlicensed was taking our little sister to school, she has been driving with her perment for almost 5 months and today... she smashed into a car... panicked she pretended to pull over until the driver of the vehicle she TAPPED got out... she took off. She was speeding around a community and lost control hitting a parked car in a drive way which hit another car. the first vehicle she hit caught back up with her and turned out to be the manager of our local DMV... the irony... now she is seventeen years old.... until next month... and her Mercedes is only under liability, what can she be charged with and what may happen??

The likely charges would be leaving the scene of an accident, driving without a license and possibly reckless driving. She'd have been better off waiting for the police to arrive, even if the car were to get impounded. Seek an attorney, she'll have to go to court, and will probably be advised at her first plea hearing to plead not guilty regardless of her innocence, as pleading not guilty will prompt the prosecutor to offer a plea or reduced charges to keep it from going to trial. Probably her best bet, since she was more or less caught red handed.. good luck. |

She might be charged with leaving a scene of an accident, dangerous driving, speeding, driving without due care and attention, driving without a licence, endangering a minor. Who knows. depends what laws there are. As she was driving around your little sister to school maybe the police could think your parents knew that she was driving... they may well get in to trouble too.
You could think of a thousand things that COULD happen... better to wait and see what actually DOES happen, it probably won't be as bad as you imagine now. |

good thing they don't charge people for stupidity..
She is facing a lot of trouble...her Mercedes is the least of her worries. she may not be doing much driving for a while. She would have been better off taking the ticket for driving w/o a license. |
