In the wake of what happened in the past 2 years, what can we do about child abuse in this country?

We can fund CPS a little better and give them more reign to do their jobs. We can hold people accountable for their actions when it comes to their kids. When someone is abusing a child either physically or mentally, that person needs to do about 10 years prison time or more. We can quit sitting back and letting it happen. Children deserve so much better in this country than what they are given. Our focus as a people ought to be on how we can better children's lives and not our own.

Report the abusers instead of "not getting involved".
Don't abuse our own children...or anyone elses.

The only way to stop it is to be the parents that break the chain. Almost ALL abusers were abused, verbally or physically and because this results in extreme lack of self-worth, as an adult these people find their power in exerting it over others in one way or another.
There has always beens lots of child abuse but not until recently has it been reported, and still it's difficult to get the courts to do anything about it.
The only way to stop it is to treat your children kindly and with respect so that they grow up to treat others the same.

well im not a parent but if i was i would get to know the people my children hang around and make sure my children trust me so that if anything does happen they would tell me right away. and keep my kid away from preists and teachers.

I think that since the death penalty is going to be a part of our culture, it should be televised. People are quietly executed and if we have to watch it, it will be a better deterrent against future acts. Another thing to do is come down hard on people for a first offence, that way they will be less likely to do it again. We give them wrist slaps forever and all that does is give them contact with people who can teach them how to not get caught. We also need to give parenting classes. Right now it's a sort of punishment. If you don't watch your child properly you get sent to class. You've seen how many questions are on here asking is my child normal in whatever area. How about a mandatory class on what to expect?
