I work with impaired nurses as part of my job (I work in the mental health field); they risk both criminal prosecution and loss of license, both of which will change the course of a nurse's life (not in a good way) when she is caught.
And believe me, she will get caught. That's often what leads them to me...they are fighting to be able to save their licenses and dealing with pending incarceration.
Whether they are class 4 narcotic drugs or something else will not make a difference. Again, I see what my clients have gone thru. In most cases, the loss of license was worse for them than the criminal prosecution. |

Yes more than one crime is commited, not only by the nurse but anyone receiving the drugs too, not to mention she would lose her nursing license in any state. |

i think the crime is that you don't know if it is a crime or not.
If she/he is a "nurse practitioner",and not stealing the meds, it may be o.k. |

Possession of prescription drugs without a prescription is a felony in addition to the theft charges. I bet if you got real technical, she could be charged with dispensing a prescription medication without a license. |

its called stealing....lol, i mean ok if you ask your pharmacist to give you some samples for your friend then thats a different story but you are taking from someone else without their consent... you could very well get your license taken away |

Yes, in addition to the obvious answer of stealing, it is also unlawful acquisition of a controlled substance. If it is only available by prescription, it does not have to be a narcotic, it is a controlled substance. |
