Is a police man a good job?

having a canine is a 24hr job. it requires a lot of patience and dedication. as far as pay and benefits, a lot has to do with the department. i've had a few relatives in law enforcement and across the board pay was nothing amazing. but most had good benefits. what all my family members had in common was that they felt that they loved their job and were making a difference in their community.

Depends on the agency but usually plays excellently and always has great benefits. But you have to want to be come a cop because you WANT to. Not because people here tell you you can make a lot of money!!!!!

I have never been a police officer, but I have friends and a cousin that were. I was a security officer and worked with retired police.

The salary depends on where you work. What you think is a "good job" depends on what is important to you.
A police officer these days is expected to have a bachelors degree before he begins the academy or be willing to take college classes and earn the degree while he works as a police officer. In this way, there are opportunism for advancement in rank, like detective, etc, or crime scene investigators. Some police officers continue on and transfer careers to the FBI, CIA, or private investigations, industrial security, or law.

Which is a great job, if you're not looking for great pay or respect from most people you run into.

you would only make about 25,000 to 40,000 a year. It may seem like alot to you but its not. You would just barely getting by.
