Is anyone watching the funerals? What do you think?

Does anyone in the California bay area think that the city of Oakland should just be locked up by a 50ft retaining wall and a moat filled with dozens of hungry sharks - leave the criminals inside and get the cops out of there before they're all dead? Put our policemen and women somewhere that they can do their jobs without constant worry that they'll be murdered by the slime in the streets! More Oakland cops are murdered than anywhere else. It's ridiculous. I think Oakland and the animals that run those streets should be eliminated completely...

What does anyone else think? I cant stand it when cops are shot...I just cant take it.

luvmesumhim: Yes, this could have happened in any other community and it has happened and probably will again. But you've got to admit, it happens in Oakland far more often than anywhere else. Oakland is considered the Murder Capitol of the west coast. Every year people take bets on how many homicides there will be and it only seems to get worse every year. This has got to end before it spreads out and saturates other communities...

Yes. It is breaking my heart in a way that has not hurt since Polly Klass. The fact that they continue to show all the Oakland Community demonstrations in support of the Murderer and his sister stating that he was a good kid is revolting.

Do not listen to the people who say this could happen anywhere. They are wrong and refuse the truth.

I want to scream again at the whole backwards, living-dead city all over again. The torture of that child by his aunts and strangers for ten years, the shootings into daycare centers, the murders of children in front of parents and parents in front of children. Last year, one of these vermin was on the loose and killed a dad and his two sons simply for cutting him off on the highway.

For our children and grandchildren's sake, I hope that they do infact wall in that part of the world, take out all the children under the age of 12, then let the remainder kill each other off. If you are from here, you will know that there are garden spots in Oakland. This was a neighborhood that the announcer said has the highest murder rate in the world, even more so than Richmond. For the locals, that says it all. Thankfully, people from all over the US are coming in droves to show Oakland that life does matter. Maybe just one resident will see the millions and question if their hatred and living-death existence could use changing.

Not everyone in Oakland is bad. Cop shootings make me mad too, but cops are risking their lives to make the streets better. In Oakland it just might be harder to do.

I'm not sure if you are aware what the job description of a police person is, but it entails putting your life on the line. The people who apply for these positions want the positions and know the dangers associated.

I hate that they are murdered also. I hate that anyone gets murdered. But it's a job they take to help keep the rest of us safe....thank goodness for them!

I was watching the funerals earlier and it got very depressing. Oakland needs more community-orientated policing. It's been far too long where it's the citizens against the police. However I don't think its fair to want to abolish the entire Oakland community. I grew up in San Jose, but have several family member that live in Oakland. This was a horrible tragedy for everyone involved. I grieve for the families of the lost officers. I also grieve for the family of the shooter. This could've happened in any community.
