Cops are given excessive amounts of power as it is. Now you think they should be able to run free taking out their stress on undeserving folks. |

To each his own. That is why they have dashboard cams these days. One can't trust another officer to say the facts clearly, so if it's on tape, it cannot be disputed. Cops should adhere to the same standards and morals as us citizens and be held accountable when they do wrong. Look at the Rodney King fiasco. The cops involved in that situation backed each other up and it wasn't until this tape surfaced that the true facts came to light. |

Yeah, and while we're at it let's give our governments absolute power to do whatever they want. After all, if they start beheading people, they must have deserved it, right?
Please. Power corrupts. Allowing police officers to beat people goes against one of the most basic tenets of our legal system (Innocent until proven guilty). That is an absurd idea. |

Your spelling indicates that you are not very bright, which explains your attitudes. |

Yes.
There would be a lot less BS crime such as vandalism, domestic violence,etc............,if the threat of an immediate butt-whooping by the cops were there. |

You are not supposed to use force or leathel force unless there is a reason. If you as a officer abuse your power there are legal ways to handle that situation people are not all stupid. |

I think that cops see alot of things that people have done that disturbs them and makes them feel helpless to know that no matter how many people they catch they cant get them all so when they do get someone they react visciously to whatever the person says and/does. I believe that cops shouldn't be allowed to beat people with clubs and tazer them unless the person is threatening to hurt the cop or someone else or if the person is trying to run. Violence should be used as a last result and if we've got people going to schools trying to convince children and teens that 'violence is not the answer' and then you have cops beating and tazering people for small things then what kind of message is that sending? actions speak louder than words. |

This country would be in big trouble if you gave cops that much freedom! There are too many corrupted cops for them to have that much power. You really have to grow up and learn how to spell, sorry. Let's hear from some cops I would be Interested in hearing from them. |

Are you out of your Fing Mind... or are you some Nazi Stooge... The police are suppose to up hold order not become disorder... I have seen to many cases where police... take matters into there own hands... beat, shot, or detain a person only to find out that the person they have is not the one they want... I have seen police beat a confession out of a man for a crime he not only didn't commit but was not even in the country to commit... if anything I think the law should be harder on police... if they are caught beating a person they should be charges with assault and sent to prison... just like anyone else... |

the problem with that is that cops are so corrupt and only pick on people they can easily beat up. they are to coward to mess with any real criminals.............. |

The cops already do what they want. That's the problem. You must be a big Nazi fan. Twenty years ago,in my little town, a 20 year old kid was having an epileptic seizure in a grocery store. How did the cops respond? By shooting him in the head, and killing him. Did the cop get in trouble for it at all? Hell no. Protect and serve. What a joke. That sh*t happens all the time. People think that's great until it happens to them. |

That would be excessive. I can think of a lot of people who deserve to get beat, but that does not give me or anyone else the right to do it. The police are subject to the same laws we are, they should never have to right to do what they want any more than we do. |

I think the police SHOULD have more power. It all depends on the situation they're in. People tend to forget that police have mostly dangerous, thankless, and extremely stressful jobs. I think if the situation warrants it, and a cop is trying to subdue a suspect that may be dangerous, carrying a gun or whatever, they should be able to use whatever means necessary to subdue that person. And as for people crying out about police brutality, well, they shouldn't have run from the cops in the first place! If they weren't running away or trying to hit the cop, they wouldn't NEED to be subdued in the first place. Of course, I do not condone police just beating the **** out of someone for no good reason, or because they feel like it. It should only be allowed if there is good cause for it. |

Dude, I am with you. We are constantly having to look over our shoulder when trying to subdue a combative suspect. It's ridiculous. |
