It depends on the medications, and how they affect you.

Most people aren't affected by Prozac, but there are some MAOI's that can seriously affect your driving. And if it was Valium or anything in that class, it will definitely impair you.

Yes and no. If we are taking any medication we are always "under the influence" of that medication. Not all medications adversely have an effect on the way we drive though. I take an antidepressant and there are absolutely no warnings about limited driving, using heavy equipment, etc. So I do not consider myself impaired in any way, shape or form.

How would the cop know you were under the influence of a prescription drug???!!!
A DUI is about driving under the influence of alcohol....formerly known as DWI : driving while intoxicated.

If the medication in any way impairs your ability to safely operate a motor vehicle then yes, you're DUI. It doesn't matter if it's a prescription drug or Nyquil.

Always read the side effects before any meds. i stopped a lesson> the goof hit the gas drove on the curb a nd thought it was funny. tells me he took Neo citran double dose.. It says on the label dont drive.

YES! Anything that alters your state of mind is considered driving under the influence. If you don't have control over your senses then you should not be on the road.

Depends on the meds . Most prescriptions say not to operate machinery while using . So if it says that ... you should not drive ... Whats worse is you are on meds for psychiatric problems and they still allow you to drive .

Well while taking any kind of medication or drinking alcohol is considered driving under the influence. You are not only putting your own life in harms way but others lives as well.
