Seriously, people, think about this. It's manslaughter, possibly homicide if you do this trying to get to the hospital. Arrogant idiots like Moats are more dangerous than drunk drivers because they think having a dying MIL or a pregnant mother gives them the right to drive like an idiot.
Why do people think Moats was justified?

AGREE with Stryker. If they would have just stopped when they were supposed to, it would have been over quicker. |

Weird, Phil M with a white icon is calling Barracuda with a black icon a white racist for supporting the Dallas Officer!
Why is the police chief hanging out the officer to dry, because Moats is a celebrity that’s why.
Was Moats wrong, yes, should he have got a ticket, maybe/ probably. Do people try to give the “hospital excuse” all the time, yes, and sometimes it is actually real. |

First of all pose the question correctly... Is going to see your mother-in-law before SHE dies a good reason for driving recklessly?
Secondly, where is it in any videos, posts or news that Moats was driving recklessly? What they said was that he was driving with his lights flashing and cautiously going through lights once he got the clearance from other drivers. Get it right!
Now to answer your question.... No is not a good reason to run red lights, however, once Moats told the police officer the situation, that's when it became the officers responsibility to handle this situation with compassion. I am a officer of the law myself and I find this to be something that we are not taught through training or anything else. Police are people too, matter of fact we are people of the community first. And the fact the you are equating this situation to a drunk driver you are an idiot yourself. Even if there was a woman that was having a baby I would say the say thing. Where is the compassion? You are an idiot for even posing this questions.
So to further answer your question of why do people think Moats was justified, it's because the MOTHER-IN-LAW WAS DYING......NOT DRUNK DRIVING...............Where are you located, so I can pull you over in a traffic stop..... |

He didn't drive recklessly. Otherwise the police officer would've said that.
There is reckless driving and there is failure to obey traffic signals.
You're obviously trying to justify the police officers actions, which is your choice. But don't expect too many people to agree with you that have seen the full tape and watched his police chief speak today.
Why do you think he was put on admistrative leave? Why do you think the Police Chief said this:
"Kunkle said Officer Robert Powell has been placed on paid administrative leave in connection with an incident last week in which he stopped a family rushing to visit a dying mother, detaining them for 13 minutes to write a traffic ticket.
“His behavior in my opinion, did not exhibit the common sense, discretion, the compassion that we expect our officers to exhibit,” the chief told a packed audience of media outlets that included Inside Edition."
He said repeatedly what was going on, even when nurses came out to tell the police officer he just told them to wait and then lectured Moats. The officer drew his gun before ANYONE got out of the car.
I'm starting to believe that a lot of white people think Moats is wrong because he is a black guy in a SUV. |
