I have a friend who I gave my pump air BB gun too(bought at walmart). Anyway his parents said he couldn't keep it because theres a law in sugarland TX about not using BB guns AT ALL or you will be charged a huge fine. i was wondering if this is true cuzz I think it's total BS

Most cities have laws against firing a BB gun within the city, however, many people fire them in the garage or back yard without any problem.
There is certainly no law in Texas against owning or having a BB gun.
I think the parents don't want the child to have the gun. |

They were incorrect.
Sec. 3-173. Discharge of weapons.
"Air rifle means a gun that uses compressed air, gas or a compressed spring to launch a projectile of any kind and includes a BB gun."
"It is unlawful for a person to discharge an air rifle upon or across any public street, park, or other public property of the city, or upon or across the real property of another person without the person's consent." It's only illegal on public property or someone else's property; they can shoot it on their property or at a range all they want. |
