Not aware of a specific law but the Highway Code says you must ensure that "clothing and footwear do not prevent you using the controls in the correct manner". If you think your footwear might - even might - affect your ability to control the car - don't do it, there are more than enough idiots on the road, and you could potentially be hauled up for Dangerous Driving. |

It is illegal to drive with bare feet or without shoes in the US for safety reasons. Not sure about the UK, but it should not be allowed anywhere |

my brother went out to the off licence late at night a couple of years back and as it was only round the corner he didn't put his shoes on, on his way back he saw a man trying to rape a woman in an alleyway, being a martial arts instructor he jumped out and bashed the guy then waited for the police who arrested the guy. when he told the copper what happened he looked and said were you driving like that coz i could arrest you for driving in bare feet. so i guess the answer is yes it is illegal in britain.
true story it was in the papers and everything. it was only when the woman reminded the copper what my brother had done that he agreed to drop it. |

Bare feet, and in Mississippi it's called improper equipment, and you can get a ticket for it. |

Yes it is against the law to drive without shoes on. The reason you must be wearing shoes or sandals is because you can lose grip on the brake or accelerator. Also you could potentially cut your foot on something in your car and become distracted. |

Yes IT IS don't listen to anyone who says it isn't. Victoria Beckham got caught doing in but they let her off (obviously coz she's a celeb). Yeah i've done it a few times but it's risky if u get pulled over and the pigs see. |
