It takes a lot of time and training. Back when I looked into it you needed either a Law degree or be a CPA . If you don't have it on your own they have a work study program.. This requires working in the Bureau by day and college by night. That means living in or around Washington DC,

I think it is because it is federal and you have to train more and have more experience than other police agencies. They normally hire physically fit people who were police or lawyers.

I want have a job in law enforcement and I did some research already. I am not sure whether I want to be in the FBI or a local police department though.

I am guessing yes and no. It really depends on who you are talking, who the person is that is wanting to become an FBI agent and so on.
