I saw someone I'm almost positive was a native-american making a purchase at a convenience store. I didn't call the cops because I wasn't 100% sure he was an indian and didnt know if he had special permission. Is it illegal for indians to escape their reservations? What happens if they are caught?

Sorry, they are now American citizens. they have the same rights as you do,including the right to shop at your neighborhood convenience store.

You do realize the Indian/US war was still on-going until WW I. And, it was the Native Americans of this land which stopped the war and fight a real enemy, Germans. We were the first volunteers of WW I. Was not for the Native Americans; stupid White Men, like yourself, would have been conquered by Germany.
Now go to our Reservation Casinos and help us raise more money, so we can keep raising our descendants to defend our great Nation. |

Now why would and indian (Native American) want to leave a reservation where there are no taxes, where they run a Casino and want to go to town to buy a bottle of booze at a convenience store.
But if the native American did so, it is not illegal, they have won their Rights to freedoms.
Did you ever see the movie "Wind Talkers", about the Navajo Indians whose code was never broken in WWII, or read about the Native American in "Trail of Tears" or "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee." Probably not, or you would never have asked this question. |
