In the state of north carolina you can not be ticketed for private property(your property) however store parking lots and other public areas are not private most of the stores have agreement with law enforcement officials so that they can ticket subjects and handle car accidents involved in the area |

All Walmart stores and corporate headquarters grants the rights to enforcement of traffic laws on Walmart property to the local, county, and state police. Meaning we can enforce traffic laws, handicapped parking, fire lane parking etc. on Walmart property. |

Not illegal in most states. While one may consider it private property, in this situation the police like you have free access to it. And for all intents and purposes, including insurance reasons, you can get a ticket. |

If there is a posted speed limit, the officer can enforce it and give a ticket. Sorry - I know getting a ticket is a real bummer :( |

A certified police officer in the state of Iowa, can write you a citation on private property if A) it was clear that you were operating the vehicle on a public roadway before entering the lot, and the violation occurred on a public roadway. The only exception to meeting the burden of proof referring to the fact that your car was on a public roadway, beyond a reasonable doubt, is for the offenses of OWI and reckless driving. Those are violations of state law if on public property OR private property. |
