Driving with an expired driver's licence is the same as driving without one. Here in Ontario, Canada you would get a ticket for "drive no licence". |

In today's PC world that would make you an "undocumented driver" since use of the "i" word is considered prejudicial. So go ahead and drive, I'm sure some vote hungry politician would assist in getting you amnesty. |

California vehicle code-12500. (a) A person may not drive a motor vehicle upon a highway,
unless the person then holds a valid driver's license issued under
this code, except those persons who are expressly exempted under this

Yes. If you get pulled over you get a ticket for being an unlicensed operator. The second time you are arrested and get a ticket for being an aggravated unlicensed operator. At this point you are tagged with the DMV. Want to avoid paying the $500 plus fine every time plus possible jail sentences? If you are an aggravated unlicensed operator they have suspended you as well. You have to pay a lift suspension fee before you can get your license back and stop getting arrested! |

Yep, it no longer valid. So it's like driving without having one, better renew it quick. Also if you get in an accident you will have no insurance coverage. |
