Yes.
Copy the letter and send to Parole Board.
Another copy to Warden of his institution and state this man needs psychiatric help.
Enter as a complaint for threats, then file an additional charge on him.
Guys like this need to be brought down that you are not afraid of him and he does not scare you.
Furthermore state, that if anything does happen to your daughter, he will be held personally accountable for a contract on her from the events within his letter. |

Contact your local DA's office. Make a copy of the letter and send it to the prison warden's office. If you can find out the parole boards address and members send a copu to them too. |

Yes!!!! You should call the police on him for that. That is definitely a threat and it is very illegal. |

Yes, it is illegal. Show it to the police, and perhaps he can stay in prison longer. |

Yes. She should turn the letter in to the police. He needs to know that this is unacceptable behavior. |

I'm surprised that the letter got out of the prison because normally they check outgoing mail for just that very reason and to make sure that incoming mail has nothing in it. Along with the Police being notified I'd be asking questions of the prison as to why and how a letter of this sort got out.... |

Don't just notify the local police, but also the Chief Warden at the State Prison where he's at and send him a copy of that letter, plus also notify the US Postal Inspection Service...then go to court ASAP and get a "Restraining Order" for you AND your daughter!
Time's a-wastin'! |

Yes it is illegal and if he's in prison that can lead to being denied parole since it is proof that he's a danger to society if freed. On a side note, he doesn't sound like the brightest bulb in the box if he's making death threats from prison. Most of those guys walk the chalk line if they have any hope of getting out. |

A threat is a criminal offence,in this case,it is obvoius. First, the case has to be taken up by the law or the authority. The investigation has to prove the identity of the sender and confirmed as a case of felony and not mischief by the law/attorney office. Then ,it becomes a legal matter. |
