Is it illegal to sell someone elses belongins?

My daughter left belonging's my husband's house, he changed the locks and after having a very abusive relationship with him I (we) decided to leave his house. She left new and worn once clothing and now I have written and eyewitnesses that he sold her things.
Is this illegal and what your advice on what to do?
Additional Details
Yes, she's under 18 and no he's not the biologicall father this is my second marriage.
I've asked many times for her belonging's that she WORKED to pay for. He know's she bougth with her own hard earned money!

If your daughter paid for the clothes with her or your money, then you might ask him for some of the sales money. Good luck.

If your daughter is under 18, and if your husband was the biological father of your daugther, then no.

You need to take that to your attorney.
If not illegal it is definitely unethical.
When you are working out a settlement your documentation of this action will not bode well for his side.
Make sure your documents are well-substantiated and in a safe place.
