Could be dangerous because of strangers who might come by. Too many crazy people out there, so be careful. Also, does your city have a curfew? That could be a trouble for anyone under 18.

As for the park, it could be trespassing and that could mean that you'd get fined or in trouble for destruction of public property, even if all you do is build a camp fire and sit there and talk. Depends on the laws in your area.

If your parents don't know, they should. Better safe than sorry.

All land in Britain belongs to somebody, so yes, it would be illegal unless you can find some common land.

parks have restrictions you have to abide by. Most land is owned by someone know where you go is approved for camping

The most you'll probably get is a warning, and be told to leave if anyone catches you.

Guess what Buddha. Common land is also owned by somebody. But if you have commoners rights, you can graze your pigs on it if you want to.

As others have said, it is not likely that much will be done about it. The police might visit you for two reasons

a) they have received a complaint (of noise, nuisance etc.) and need to look into it
b) they are concerned for your safety.

If this happens, be polite and do as they ask.

If it is a council owned park then it could be against the byelaws and leave you open for arrest
if it is in a field somewhere then tresspass.
if anything is damaged then criminal trespass

Tresspass is a civil offence.

Depends on who owns the field. if it is your towns property you may need a permit. If it is a campground, public or private, you at least need to register.
If it is in the middle of the public woods there is usually no problem but it depends on the local laws.
See who own the property and simply get permission. people do it all the time.

Does that "small open field" belong to someone? If it belongs to the State, then they have their own rules about "camping" so if it's not designated for camping, it's most likely illegal.
Probably the worst is you'd get kicked off, but that all depends on who's on the other end dealing with you. :)

if its a public field then you own it , obviously you can camp on your own field.
