Sometimes they'll come to you in fear that you won't actually show up at the police station. It's not really uncommon. They're tring to make a case against this guy and probably want to talk to you before his lawyer does. Just have someone with you so they don't twist things around for their report. you'd probably feel a little more relaxed in your house rather than the station.

Yes its normal. Keep in mind the typical officer does not have an office. So most victim statements are taken outside of the station, usually at the home of the victim.

NO, I wouldn't allow the officer to come to your residence, at least without you having a witness(friend parent etc). He may or may not be trying to help who knows. Some officers if they feel you may not testify or make a statement will be willing to come to your residence. Better safe than sorry I would file your statement at the HQ.

He may just be trying to make it convenient on you. Relax, give your statement honestly and truthfully, and don't worry about it.

It's very normal. Officers often come to people's homes for a written statement instead of having them come to the station. It's just a matter of courtesy. The officer will give you a form to fill out (name/address/telephone #, ect.) and will often have you call the station when it is completed so they can stop back to pick it up. Then they will just give the statement to the detective bureau.

Yeah, detectives will do that sometimes. He might also hand you his card and say "Give me a call if you remember anything else."

NO NO NO tell him to give you his badge number and you will go to the barracks to fill out a report. you don't even know if it is a real officer... you can go to the barracks w/o his badge number..tell them you were asked to fill out a report.

If I were you I'd arm yourself with a gun just incase. Scattering a few pieces of tinfoil and burnt spoons around couldn't hurt also.
