Actually, you were an idiot. While cops don't have the right to detain you without reasonable suspicion, you should have just told her this and gone on with your day. Instead, for some reason I haven't been able to figure out, you make this in to a huge man/woman deal, and technically what you did was assault (in a civil trial). It's battery civilly and criminally if you hit a man OR a woman and so perhaps you shouldn't do that to anyone. Especially a cop.

first of all i think it is all crap. but are you stupid you shouldnt hit a women no matter what her job is and you shouldn't hit a police officer either. you can get in a lot of trouble. that is worse than just hitting some normal joe on the street. how old are you? women can make the decision to be whatever they want to be. who ever said that a police officer was a MALE's job? Obviously this guy is a moron. If you hit her it would be a felony assault on L.E. just like it would have been for a male Police officer. I wish you would have tried that with me. Also what people do not realize is a female cop has a better and easier time of articulating shooting someone when she has to struggle with a thug due to her being a female and alone at the time of the struggle because every struggle we get into there is a weapon involved. The one on our hip. And you or anyone risk being shot when you fight a Police Officer because of this fact. All we have to say is we were losing the fight and afraid you would take our gun away and shoot us with it.
