So I messed up and got a misdemeanor possession charge for marijuana. My probation is a year and I've been on it for 3 months now, about 7 to go. I have taken a substance evaluation and paid off all my fines but I also failed my first drug test. I still have to take a DUI class and do community service for failing (work alternative program).
Should I ask my P.O. if its still possible to get off early, is it possible has anyone ever had this happen? This is in gwinnett co, georgia

It was my first UA, but I took it 3 months into probation. I was warned not to fail again and referred to a work alternative program by my P.O. If I don't mess up anymore is it still possible to get off?

We know it stays in your system for 30 days, but the report has levels on it.
The early termination thing depends on the Judge. If you go to a treatment program and you finish it and you finish your community service and everything, then the judge might agree to let you off early. There are some judges who will not terminate anyone early. |

Your first UA was 3 months into your probation ... and you failed it?
Even if you were a heavy daily smoker of marijuana the drug would leave your system in 40 days ... and you should have passed the drug test if you hadn't smoked since the start of your probation.
Your PO could have violated you when the results came back positive and sent you to jail, they gave you a break! Getting off probation early would be another break ... probably too much to hope for in your case! |

If your first UA was within 30 days of you being sentenced to probation, I wouldn't worry, Your P.O knows how long weed stays in the system. Weed really isn't too much of a prob;em, start smoking crack, and you're gonna go to jail. Just don't give anymore positive drug screen and follow ALL of your orders from judge/APO, and you'll probably be off soon |

IT TAKES 38 DAYS FOR MARIJUANA TO LEAVE YOUR SYSTEM. WHEN YOU ARE ON PROBATION IT IS PROBABLY GOOD SENSE NOT TO BE DREAKING ANY LAWS. KNOW THAT YOU WILL NOW BE TESTED ALOT MORE OFTEN. IF YOUR NANOGRAMS ARE NOT 14 OR BELOW ON YOUR NEXT TEST YOU WILL, AGAIN, FAIL IT. NOT A GOOD START TO TRYING TO GET OFF EARLY. |

dude 1 year of probation is a freeken cake walk. simpley stay out of trouble. then you don't even have to worry about anything. unless your a trouble maker, then you deserve to get into trouble resulting into more punishment |
