If you are creating a traffic hazard you can be cited. Slow drivers cause as many accidents as speeders. Trying to pass a slow driver who is in the fast lane can be very dangerous. Never impede the flow of traffic. |

Actually, I know someone who got a ticket for "holding up traffic." She drove 10 miles under the limit |

Some states DO have a minimum legal speed on interstates. More often the law involved would be 'impeding the flow of traffic' or something similar. If your driving interferes with others using the road, that is as dangerous as speeding. |

I guess it depends on where you live.
In California you can be sighted for going to slow- it's called obstructing traffic.
On a country road if there are five cars behind you, you are supposed to pull over and let traffic through-obstructing traffic.
those are just two incidences of it.
YES YOU CAN |

Well i know in New Hampshire, there are minimum speed limits. On the Highway, where it is 65, the minimum is 45. So i guess if you are going under the minimum, you can get pulled over and get a ......... slowing ticket, lol |

If you are driving below the posted speed limit you can be cited foe impeding traffic. It's is an actual moving violation. |

While the exact wording of speed laws vary by state, they all essentially say you can not go faster than the posted speed limit and that you must operate at an appropriate and safe speed. It would not be either appropriate or safe to drive 20 MPH on the freeway unless there was ice or heavy fog. Slow vehicles create as much of a hazard as do fast vehicles. |

No it is not better to drive too slow.
Driving too slow can cause accidents too. |

There is a minimum limit on most roads. It is very dangerous to go too slow on the road. |

Driving well under the speed limit with good driving conditions, and not allowing faster traffic to go around you could be considered obstructing the flow of traffic.
Example: Speed limit is 55 MPH (two lane road - one lane each direction). Your speed is 35 MPH, conditions are good - dry roads with visibility to the horizon and clear conditions. There is a line of traffic 5 or more cars deep behind you ... and you do not pull over and let the faster drivers go the speed limit (let's say steady traffic coming against you or a long no passing zone).
The officer COULD write you a ticket for obstructing the flow of traffic ... even if the road has no posted minimum speed limit.
Other than that, or violating a minimum speed limit, officers are not likely to write you up for going too slow.
IMHO: Officers should write up extremely slow vehicles more often! The 30 MPH "King of the Road" is just as dangerous as the 90 MPH "Speed racer".
Farmers with slow moving tractors know enough to get over and let the faster vehicles go (the good farmers do anyway). All other slow moving traffic (10 MPH or more below the limit in clear conditions) should do it! |

Well it depends sometimes it is illegal to drive below the speed limit if a cop or law inforcer observes that you are driving too fast for the weather conditions. Such as icy roads or it is raining and you are going too fast because of the weather conditions. It also depends on the state you live in and your type of cops. |

Its not illegal to drive below the speed limmit. But in some cases (like on a freeway) it is illegal to drive below a certain limmit because cars traveling any slower would not only slow down traffic, but increase the odds of a wreck. For example here in Colorado if you drive on I85 you'll notice the speed limmit signs say "Speed limit 75" and below it says "minimum speed 55". |

No, not on side streets, but on freeways there is a minimum. P.S. Why do you think they call it a Speed LIMIT? |

NO.. |

no if they did youd think it would be required by law that in every car that it would be easier to set cruise control |

No, but some stretches of highway have minimum as well as maximum speeds; 40 min/65 max is typical. |

No, it is not against the law, however most road do have minimum speed limits that must be observed as well... |
