It is NOT too late to stand up for yourself and make him accountable for his actions. It doesn't matter what he did in the past....all that matters is that he did this to you, and you shouldn't have to suffer silently.

If you never went to a doc or anyone, you'll have a tough battle ahead of you. But I can tell you from personal experience that you can still win the battle and get him locked even if you were too scared to go to a doctor in the beginning. You never know...when I came forward, other people then stepped forward with similar experiences with him....once one woman is strong enough to have a voice, more women follow.

You should report it. The statute of limitations on prosecution for rape is several years. Additionally, there are plenty of people who have been in your situation and had to suffer silently. I had a friend who was afraid to call the police too. Just go ahead and do it, and try to bring that evil man to justice. And I'm sorry you had to experience being raped, that's something nobody deserves.

I have friends on several police forces. They all say GO. They need to see you as quickly as possible. Save any evidence you may have (clothing, pictures, etc.). Also, be prepared to answer why you didn't come forward before.

This guy needs to be stopped. Go to the police NOW.

I am so sorry about your situation.
Honestly, I work with women who were raped 20 years ago, some child abuse cases dated back to the 80's too. It is really hard to prove though because of the fact that it is your word against his. If you can get his little brother to testify, that would give your case strength.
If you can, look in your area for a local D.A.R.C.C. office (Domestic abuse and rape crisis center) and see what they can do for you.

It isn't too late. You should report to the authorities immediately. Especially if he has previous charges. As far as evidence goes, they have tests they can run that will prove you were raped and they can match it to him. He is a danger to women and children and should be reported. Good luck.

It is absolutely not too late to report this. Sadly, rape still has a statute of limitations, but it is years not weeks. Any evidence that was on you is gone unfortunately, but do you by any chance have the clothes you were wearing? If they haven't been cleaned, they can help. It won't be an easy case without evidence, but if you can, I would go through with it anyway. Cops and support groups for rape survivors can help you out in how to go forward with a case. If you decide that you can't, I would still go get some counseling at least for your own peace of mind. There are rape crisis hotlines and groups that can help. The most important thing is that you get back to a safe place in your head.

Sorry that you were assaulted. You can report him, but I don't know if you'll get anywhere. Did you go to the emergency room? Did you tell anyone immediately after it happened? Unfortunately, time is of the essence. Certainly, you could speak to the District Attorney and see what advice you could get there. Maybe the guy will feel the pressure and at least confess or make a deal which would land him in jail for a while. Good luck

yeah you should report it. even if they don't have enough evidence to charge him they will still keep a record of him in case of future claims. you will be helping by coming forward.

no, its never too late. the only thing is that since you didnt go right away it will be harder to build up a case against the perp.

Its not too late to report the rape, but like you said, the hard part would be to prove it. If it was reported immediately, they could have done a rape test, and taken dna samples. Maybe if you still have the clothes you were raped in, that is unwashed, they may be able to draw out some dna and evidence from that.

There are so many cases like yours...and NO it is NEVER too late!

I just mean that I'm sure there are so many people who at first didn't report it because they were afraid for one reason or another.

But yes by all means, report it NOW! You shouldn't have to live and deal with this by yourself when he's still out there and could do it again.

You need to report this and it is never good to hide it but do not let it go because then he will know that he has you scared and that you are not going to do anythign about it then you are fair game for him.. Report him and get his butt arrested
