Is it worth suiciding yourself if the Police Force turns you down for imperfect eye vision?

Yes. If you are rejected, you will be a failure. You will never amount to anything in life.

You won't ever get hired. Even if you passed the physical fitness and written exams, you would probably fail the psychological exam. If you are willing to kill yourself because you get turned down from an agency, you do not have what it takes.

If you want to be a cop you have to be willing to test everywhere possible, get turned down and continue testing. I tested for an agency in WA in the early 90's. 4500 people tested in the test period. I placed #58 out of the 300 or so in my group. I was passed over. I don't know why and I don't really care. I continued my job search and found a job.

Most departments have a policy that requires vision that is corrected to acceptable limits. If your glasses correct the impairment, it's likely it won't be an issue.

You know what? There is a hopeful and good answer to this. However if this is what you have in mind then no police department would even consider issuing you a firearm due to your instability.

And especially because you have a name "Shoot Somali Pirates".

Nothing is worth suicide. But anyway, there are many options. First ask them what the eyesight requirements are, glasses may be allowed. Also if they aren't look into laser correction first.
Also you may not pass the pysc test if thats the way you think.

Check into Lasik surgery. I know people that couldn't see their hand in front of their face to almost 20/20 perfect vision after Lasik. It wasn't very painful and it's sure a lot easier to deal with then suicide.

Did you ever think about getting eye surgery? There's always a way out; don't go that route.

First, there are medical procedures that can help with vision. I couldn't read the big "E" on the eye chart my eyes were so bad. I had laser surgery and now have perfect vision. I could not have applied to the Academy without it.
Second, if you would even consider "suiciding" yourself over that, Policing may not be right for you. It is a highly stressful job where you deal with alot of stuff that some people just can't handle. Day after day of dealing with people who just don't give a sh*t about their children, dealing with deaths, sensless crimes. There are alot of disappointments and alot of times you feel you let someone down or that you are powerless to help them. There is a high rate of divorce and alcoholism because that is how some people chose to handle this. There are many other jobs you can do to serve your community, it is not the end of the world.

Definitely don't kill yourself! There is SO much more to life. If you have glasses and can read well with your glasses on, there will be no reason for them to reject your application.

However, if the worst does happen, just try something else. There's got to be something out there for you! Just keep a positive outlook.
