Hey TKT...no she won't go to prison...she might get a fine...
from what you have said it sounds like maybe your mom should seek legal council!!
Hope this helps you :) |

hopefully she does.. you can be certain if your father did it to her, he definitely would. hopefully one day we will have equal justice. |

it all depends on the your step dad does.. what he charges her with.
they is a possibility that she will end up in jail for a while
or she may just be in probation for a while.
but I'm sure nothing major |

she could do a few months, then probation, pay restitution, and may be ordered to keep away from your step dad. |

on a misdemeanor and for a first offense .. maybe not.. there is a chance mattering what lead to the attack that she might not.. just because he has wounds on film doesnt mean anything..
does your mom have a lawyer.. or one provided by the court.. did you step dad yell at you mom alot? abusive?
honestly there are alot of things that could be happening that we cannot assume.. |

I would say if it is clearly self defense then no, If she jsut went off on him then it possible if he presses charges. |

She may but for some thing that minor she would only be there for about a night or two. |

Yes, she will be going to jail, but it all really depends on what state you are in. |

depends if its her first offence has she done it before???thats what it all boils down to!!!
another thing when you hit someone with somehting im suprised its misdeamnor....usually if a person hits someone with an object or something its felony..so that right there is odd.Thats in the state of fla..not sure where you are.
she will serve 24 hours and get out for good probably.they arrest her when she did it. |

Probably not if he's sending threatening messages. |

Its highly likely that she'll spend some time in jail. If its her first offense, she'll at least have some probation and fines to deal with. |

She should have been charged with Domestic Violence and yes, she will do some time. |

Was it self-defense? Did he abuse her?
I doubt she sees any jailtime. Especially if she can prove that he's trying to profit from her by scamming the court system. |

She might go but probably not for long. She might just have to go to anger management classes. |

For like a couple of month a year at the most bt only if she is proven guilty |

I dont think she will probably some parenting class and anger management class and probation. however is your mom has any proof about how your dad treats her then she should get a lawyer and show the lawyer that evidence. from here on whatever she gets from him like voice mails then tell her to save them. |

dont listen to those stupid people, with there stupid answers. your mom will get some fines she will have to pay, some probation maybe a year or two. and might have to go thru anger managment classes |

maybe. depends on many things like past record and so many things. it is probably unlikely, but it is possible. |

I hope so. If she were a man then she would.
EDIT: From what you state your dad wasn't doing anything immediately before she threw the water at him, so no matter what she claims her action wasn't precipitated by any action of his. Her excuse is as bad as a guy beating the crap out of his wife because she is constantly making his life miserable. She deserves to be treated in the same fashion as he would be. She has an anger problem which is magnified because she thinks she is justified in displaying her anger simply because she is a woman. She had absolutely no right to throw that boiling water on him, and nothing she has to say as to why she did it justifies it. |
