Is there a number I can call to anonymously call to report child abuse that I won't get?

A couple completely neglects there child and allows him to rummage the cabinets to find food, they don't cook for him or bath him or change him, as he has huge sores on his behind. He eats out of the dog dish and eats whatever is left out on the table or the back of the couch.

I am a parent and I strive to take care of my children as best as possible and when I heard the little guy was sick I just stopped by to check on him and see if he was going to go to the dr. I seen the house and how they care for him and freaked out seeing that he isn't 2 yet and the sores he has on his behind just about made me sick.

Any number I can call to report this and hopeful he can be taking care of better.

You can call the police and request that your complaint be kept anonymous. If they do take the child away be prepared for the parents to want to point fingers. If its an anonymous call they won't say who but its not going to stop them from trying to blame people and you might be in the line of fire.

The important thing is to get the child to a better environment. If it were me I would take the blame if it meant that the little boy had a better chance at life.

it makes me sick how some poor innocent kids get treated, you could probably call the child welfare department or maybe crimestoppers(im not sure if they deal with abuse) or you could call the police.

Why would want to be anonymous? Call the police, tell them what is going on, they will come out immediately, as opposed too the Dept. of Human services, who will call the police to go out there and check it out for them first. You are wasting time by asking us, do whats right for that kid, the longer you wait the worse it can become, if it is not bad enough for you!!!!! You walk over there with the officers and tell them what you have seen, do not hide behind your phone, computer, and door! How would you feel if someone got feedback before they report your child or love one being raped in front of them, like this child is being abused!!!!

I have called child protective services and it seems like they take there time on checking on a child. they ask alot of questions on the phone and if they feel like the child is not in any danger they won't check it out, but then again I live in IL..

If you call can you block your number and tell them you want to be identified.
or if it is really that bad I would call the police and don't give them your name either, they tend to let the name slip out sometimes..

You should have some type of "Child Protection Services" listed in your phone book for your city, or you could call information. Those are always anonymous
They will, of course, ask for your name, etc., so be prepared for that. However, since your city is probably different then mine, when you call you should ask if your information will be held private just for your own peace of mind.)

P.S. Louie G is the one that is Stupid. 911 is for Emergency's only! It is not the number to call
