Is there anything I can do?

A friend of mines daughter is having an affair with a 30 year old guy. The problem is that she's only 15!!!! She wants to have his baby, but he just wants her for...we you can only imagine why a 30 year old guy would want a 15 year old for. We have already call the police and they said there's NOTHING they can do??!! We are in Hartford Conneticut and we just cant seem to be doing anything.

The police informed us that she 15 and apparently that makes it ok here. WTF

Looks like the age of consent in Connecticut is 16. This does not make sense. Call the police again and start complaining in public (local popular newspaper) if you do not get results.

Sit the girl down and tell her that she can find someone better than him. Let her know taht a guy that age doesn't need to be with a girl his age. If you can't get through to her talk to him. Tell him to stay away from her or you will turn him in to the cops. I've known people that have gone to jail for less.

Does your friend know this is happening? You MUST contact someone and soon....try the media. That would surely put a stop to this 30 year old's SICK behavior! If not them, Child Protective Services needs to step in. Best of Luck!

At 16 she can legally consent. You can not do anything if she is 16 or 60. The line has been drawn and she has passed the age.

Unfortunately, the only thing you can do, is be there for her. Argueing will only force her closer to this guy. You can hope that he will get bored of her before she gets pregnant.

Get a PI and get some evidence and bring it to the district attorney and if that dose not work call NBC Dateline and get it in to the news. They will do something then, I am sure of it!!

Call your local newspaper with the story and whatever PROOF you have. If the guy's politically connected, they may stay away from the story too. So call the newspaper (or the local TV news) in the next town over, some newsroom would love to break a story like this.
