My friends ex-girlfriend of 17 yrs has repeatitly vandelized his personal property . He has police reports. Can he and how if so can he get a restraining order against her in the state of California

At the very least you should be able to get a TRO or temporary restraining order because with the police reports you can demonstrate that she is a threat to your person and property. And with the temporary tag you can at least have some sort of protection until the rest of the situation can be sorted out and/or she calms down a bit. You should go to the county or city court and present your case in front of a judge to demonstrate providing you can show that she is a serious enough threat, death or otherwise. |

He should contact the local courthouse on getting a protective order from the court. It is active once she has been served by the police. It normally instructs her to stay away from the plaintiff (your friend). He can contact the police immediately if she violates the order. Any violation will lead to arrest. This should stop her dangerous actions from continuing. |

Sounds like more than enough to also have her arrested. Once she's arrested, got to the judge and explain how her actions have put you in fear for your safety. Besides a restraining order, he might also put a bail piece on her so high that she won't be able to get out for a while. |

you can get a restraining order on anyone for anything. my husbands ex put one on me when he started dating me and i had never spoken to her, met her, or even saw her. she did it just to be a b***h. all you have to do is come up with a good story and they'll give you one. |

Absolutely. Either retain a lawyer or go down to the police department and ask how you can get one. If he has previous police reports, he has enough evidence! |
