Most employers only asking if you have been convicted. And if you were never proven guilty then you should be fine. |

No or unless you were tried as an adult and if a judication was with held then you were never convicted and plus once you turn 18 everything gets closed and you pretty much start all over |

if you were not charge as an adult. there should be no problem. your records are sealed when you turn 18.. Good luck sweetie |

they will be sealed when you turn 18 And god almighty don't tell them about it as one suggested then it will haunt you the rest of your life. It's better to decline the job and wait till your 18 then to risk getting a black mark so early.
PS when you have a little money get the records expunged so no one can see them not even the law. I reread it and you're 26. You're home free. It's only when you are found guilty that records haunt you. And everything was reset at 18 |

your juvenile records are sealed and no one can ever see them outside law enforcement unless you ever get arrested for something. and then that's if they even exist. when my daughter got picked up for shoplifting at 16 the judge said that if she didn't get into any more trouble before she turned 18 then the juvenile record would be erased from existence. |

If you didn't get charged, you should be just fine. You could always call the local PD and ask just to make sure. But, as a minor who wasn't charged, I could not see any reason that would stick on your record, as there is no record to really speak of. Good luck with the job. |

It will probably not exclude you from getting a job, but there is a good chance employers will see it negatively and choose someone else over you.
The best advice I can give: don't hide this fact. If you let them know that it happened, and that you were not charged and have cleaned up since then, they will respect your honesty. |

I doubt it. If what you say is true, I would think that there would be no searchable record. If you can get hold of a typical bank application, I would check to see if they do not ask if you have ever been "convicted" (not arrested or charged) of a "felony". Even if they ask about a misdemeanor you would dodge that bullet. Shoplifting is normally a misdemeanor and the situation would seem to put you several steps away from affecting your hoped for bank employment. |

First, that depends on your state. Here in Missouri you're an adult at age 17, and will be charged as such.
Second, if, in your state you were considered an adult, you will have an arrest on your criminal history. This may affect your chances.
Even if you were arrested as an adult and have a criminal history, the fact that you were not convicted in court should have a lot of influence on whether or not this will affect you.
If, in your state, you were considered a juvenile at 17, this should not show up on your criminal history and should not be of any consequence. |

Well if you weren't charged I'm pretty sure you're safe.
And seriously, who didn't shoplift at 17? |

If you were not charged..why did they take fingerprints?? Who took them? You were booked and fingerprinted. That sounds like an arrest. However....all records that occured at 17 and under and supposed to disappear once you turn 18. There is a way you can check your own record to be sure. It is the same website the employers use. You might have to pay for it, but it would be worth it. |

I know that in state of PA the juvenile's records are forgiven. Juvenile until the age of 18. |

I thought you started clean at 18?
(In Canada at least) Maybe its the same in the US.. it would make some sense but I'm not sure sorry. |

No it would not. I had a similar incident so I can tell you that, especially because there were no charges, and also because you were a minor (and it would have likely been a misdemeanor), it is not on your record and no employer will be able to know about it. |

You should bring it up when you are being interviewed that would show that you dont want to keep anything private from them and you are a hard worker plus if you really have clean and hardworking ever since then they will be able to see it |
