Last night 3rd DWI Texas?

last night i picked up my 3rd dwi and they charged me with a felony - my first 2 DWI's were in 1991 and 1992 so it's been 17 years since i last had one - any idea what might happen - and on another note in 1989 i caught a felony for credit card abuse and then in 1992 another felony for retaliation (verbal threat) - would this make me eligible for the Texas 3 strikes law?

It's your past track record that is getting you a felony for your 3rd DWI.
Do you think you should be getting a misdemeanor or something? Nowadays they are making 1 DWI a felony, as with certain counties in N.Y. You need to smarten up. I guess the first 2 DWI's didn't sink in, did they? I think you know the answer to your question. You are up for the 3 strikes and you're out vacation. A Judge is now going to have to figure out if you are a candidate for a 10 stint in a correctional facility. |

Don't listen to what everyone has to say here. I see 3rd and 4rth time offenders all the time not do jail time. Also, there is a chance that you can get it reduced to a misdemeanor since your priors were before 1998 (laws were different then).
First thing you need to do is contact an attorney that specializes in fighting DWI cases in Texas. Here is a reference on where to find one:

Good luck and don't worry about it now, wait until you talk to an attorney. Every case is different and there is a good chance you can get it dropped to a misdemeanor and not have to do any jail time.
