my friend got killed on easter in they arressted the guy for her murder his court date is on the 22nd of this month wednesday. i was wondering can i go to the hearing.because i thought that was public access. my mom use to work for the city in she told me it would be ok as long as it wasnt a high profile case.i just want to make sure i can go.

If you are not a potential witness you can go.
If worried about that just contact the prosecutors office, they will tell you if you are a potential prosecution or defense witness. My county prosecutors office will have someone take your name and notify you when a real trail date is about to happen. Yours may not.
Be warned nothing is going to happen for about 6 or more months. The date is likely an arraignment or appearance date. They will have many appearances and motions before a real trail happens unless the guy pleads guilty.
At a guilty plea hearing the prosecutor will read out details that would have come out at trail before the judge decides whether or not to accept the plea or any deal worked out. |

I'm sorry for your loss. Court proceedings are public, unless the judge closes it for some reason, which is rare. Assuming that the accused is not a juvenile, you should be able to attend. |
