Ok so i was driving down the street and i saw my friend standing on the corner and i wanted to get his attention so i called him out the window, next thing you know this cop pools me over and says that i had my music up to high and he heard it from a few feet away lol i told him it wasn't music it was me calling my friend he said i had a bad tone of voice and cited me a $200 ticket... what should i do can i fight this

bring your friend into court as a witness. the friend can testify that you were simply yelling to him and that your music wasn't on. But since the system is corrupt, you'll be found guilty anyway. but it's fun to make sure you waste city money before they get yours. make sure you appeal when they find your guilty too. make 'em work for it. if everyone made them work for it, we wouldn't all get screwed over like that so often. |

Ahh see that was your mistake, getting lippy. I got pulled over once after hollering out my car window and it wasn't to say hi to a friend. Someone ran in front of my moving car and I leaned out to call them a jackazz. Anyway the cop pulled me over and told me what I did was considered "disrupting the peace" and he was about to issue me a citation... I politely explained the situation and apologized and what do you know.. he let me go. It's all in the attitude.

The charge is disturbing the peace and you will not easily beat it without a lawyer who would charge you more than the fine. |

i would definitely dispute the $200 fine. Take it to court. Doesn't it say on the back of the ticket how to dispute it? |

if your music is audible from outside your car its considered noise pollution... thats what i heard somewhere.. so maybe thats why you got a ticket.
just cop the fine.
if it makes you feel better i've lost 650 dollars in fines from traffic cops.. i really really hate them. |
