a couple days ago i went into a abandoned house that a mortgage company owns, they told me at the police station that it could be a misdemeanor, if the company who owns the house presses charges, i am 14 years old and it was with some other friends, and wed didn't break in because the back door was open. What could happen if they did press charges like what would the punishment be
And do you think that jail would be possible with a clean record

I doubt you will be charged. You did enter, but you did not break in and you did not damage any property.
If the property was not posted, that is there were no signs saying to keep out, then they will have a difficult case trying to prove you knowingly trespassed.
In the worse case if you are charged and found guilty your punishment is likely to be probation. |
