Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) is the wierdest organisation I have ever come across. There are ideas are liberal, but bordering on the down right lunatic and immoral! And the government think that these people are competent to manage people who just want to be able to do there job even handedly, and fairly! |

Because they are saying what people want to hear, they don't all have the courage to say what is right. Using the latest office jargon to sound like they are on top of things, pandering to minor groups who think your average piece of scum is well within their rights to ruin your life and then have full legal representation followed by little or no punishment.
I think that drug Zsar had it right when he said 'zero tolerance', but no Chief Constable wants to put their head above the parapet - cos it wont look good on their CV! |

We are all different. The only part of the police service I really detest are those people who hide behind darkened glass in the back of vans, parked in inconspicuous places, and point speed cameras at us. It seems so cowardly to hide themselves away and then arrange for us to be sent notices of prosecution, invariably for going marginally over speed limits - fine example 35 over 30. It amazes me why some of these vans have not been demolished by foreign juggernauts for parking inconspicuously on the highway. |

I have never had the pleasure of meeting a Chief Constable, so I can't say whether they are odd or not. I agree most Police Officers are polite, but not all. I have unfortunately met a couple of very self opinionated, obnoxious ones in the not to distant past. |

So true!
/i would refere you to our own chief who at his last force outlawed blue lights unless responding to asistance shouts.
It cut police accidents by up to 40 % but shockingly violent crime went up!
BLoody politicians not police officers |

Aren't all spies and coppers distinctly odd? I believe they are. I mean what kind of person wants to sit and listen to others conversations and do the things they do?
It takes a special person to be a constable and I think they need to be different. It is a good thing, not bad. I would not want their job because they are always criticized in the public. |

Why don't your cops carry guns? Who ever heard of an unarmed copper? Lol, hilarious! How very Monty Python-esque!
Silly Brits! |

"Most UK coppers are polite, sensible and practical."
That has got to be the funniest thing I've read in a long time. |
