My boyfriend got caught selling Adderall at school..?

He is looking a two major problems. First of all, they are going to punish him administratively. Secondly, they could file a criminal complaint.

From the administrative side, there is a very good chance he will be expelled from school.

From the criminal side, most states have penalty enhancers for selling on school property, so this will be treated more severely than other drug offenses.

Both kids will get in trouble, not just your boyfriend.

Because it happened on school grounds, he'll be in a lot more trouble. I can't be certain without knowing what state you're in, but most states have an enhanced penalty for selling drugs within 100' of a school. Some states, it's an additional fine, other states it can be charged a felony.

Adderall is a controlled substance, so the fact it isn't meth or pot would be irrelevant.

I'm sure he'll get at least a year unsupervised probation and a high monetary fine. He'll probably get community service. I doubt he'll get jail time, but it all depends on your state's rules about schools and narcotics.

He'll probably be in a world of trouble, though. Doing that at a school makes it a lot worse.

It doesn't matter if he cooperated or that his record was clean. He decided to sell drugs to another person on school property.

Chances are he is going to jail because he did it knowingly. How long, 2-5 years I would say. He may get out earlier on good behavior but who knows. If he gets a good judge, that will help too.

In all honesty, he sold drugs that weren't his to another moron. If his grades aren't near perfect, you will be visiting him during visitor's hours at the nearest prison.

He's suspended for now, but if his grades aren't great, he most likely won't be coming back to school. Because he is an adult, he will be charged as one. If he is very, very, very lucky he could get community service for many, many hours. But that is doubtful in his case.

-->Almost forgot. Because he sold drugs not just on school property but drugs that weren't his, he will be in prison for half a decade. Like I said, depending on his performance in school and the judge, he could get less. But chances are high he won't.

Yikes.. tell him not to drop the soap. Shame on him selling drugs. You know he probably sold to more than just one 18 year old. Hopefully the have minors testify against him also.

friends son who is 15 got caught for selling his adhd meds which is addarel extended release, he was suspended from his freshman year at high school. the students he sold to were suspended as well. so far they went to school and he is back in he was suspended 60 days. than his father hired an atty in which the kids mother didnt like for she feels the son can get out of the situation. Father who is not the custodial parent did the atty finding after talking to two very prominent attys, after the mother returned home from her honeymoon her new hubby and her realized felony conviction cant stay so they hired atty for 2500.00 and turned to father as say pay your half. father stated no way I hired an atty for son already. Mother and step daddy say they can get the son out of the situation. can anyone tell me how this can be? after all kid confessed for the Mother allowed the sheriff to speak to the kid without parents being present, also the kid has never been in trouble before yet the day this all transpired the Mother and step daddy begged the sheriff to take the kid to Detention home, and the sheriff agreed only for 24 hour period. Now 4 months since incident the kid has went to court 4 times one with fathers atty in the beginning, the fathers atty was dismissed by the father because there is no reason to make this a three ring circus, so the mother and step daddy hired atty to do what? confused the kid is 15 not a baby and not two years old, he knew better he had a run in with a situation about a year ago at a prior school but nothing came out of that situation for there was no evidence it was all hear say. to my knowledge after all this most recent event happened I believe the kid did sell the first time, now this time he was caught, states he didnt think but this kid is an adult in a kids body, he zones in on adult conversation all the time. well now the kid wants nothing to do with his father. Looks like mommy and step daddy either have brain washed the kid to thinking he will get out of the felony charges, but really is that fair to students who know what he did and he talks like he is a saint any one got ideas?
